With a roadmap provisionally planned out in front of us, we are looking ahead to fewer restrictions enabling exhibitions to go ahead during the second half of 2021. DRIFFIELD SHOW
Diffield Showground, near York, currently scheduled for 21st and 22nd July, 2021 Exhibition type: Agriculture and Fencing Webpage: www.driffieldshowground.co.uk For the first time in its history the Driffield Show is planned to take place over 2 days, to enable a greater distribution of visitors. Coronavirus aside this is something we welcome, the Driffield Show is known for its scale and broad variety of trade stands, and a two day event gives visitors more time should they need it to get round as many stands as they wish. The main arena hosts livestock competitions with Sheep, Horses and Cattle, plus some truly exciting entertainment in the form of Camel Racing, kids Terrier Racing, and Dog Agility. Surrounding the main arena is something for everybody with Handicrafts, Shops, Machinery, and Agricultural Supplies, plus the new to 2019 Food Theatre, with cooking demonstrations by some of the best local chefs. Driffield Show is also home to the UK Fencing Championships, presented by Fencing and Landscaping News. The 10 competitors are given 4 hours to erect 40 metres of high tensile stock netting. A number of businesses, including Easy Petrol Post Driver, support the event through sponsorship which goes towards the prize money for the first 3 places. SHOWMANS SHOW
Newbury Showground, currently scheduled for 20th & 21st October 2021 Exhibition type: Events, Festivals, Weddings Webpage: www.showmans-directory.co.uk Being one of the most affected industries during the 2020/21 pandemic, the events, festivals, and weddings industry is certainly in need of a boost. The Showmans Show should hopefully come at the end of a summer of near normal activities and certainly is not one to miss. The show is great opportunity to meet new suppliers, network with similar businesses, and discover the latest innovations. Visitors are offered a vast cross section of the entire supply chain, from marquees and structures, plant hire equipment, waste management, food and catering, health and safety solutions, to the finishing touches. Additionally, the rise in demand for sustainable products and surge in appetite for all things technology related is also reflected in the exhibitor list.
SALTEX
NEC Birmingham, currently scheduled for 3rd & 4th November 2021 Exhibition type: Landscaping, Groundcare Webpage: www.gmasaltex.co.uk Saltex sits at the heart of the landscaping industry and is the must attend event for anyone maintaining or managing pitches, estates, grounds, landscaping, play areas and parks. You will find all the best brands and latest innovations from the industries top suppliers. Saltex has been the launch pad for many new products over its 75 year tenure. There really is something for everybody, from groundsmen, company owners, volunteers or professionals. Alongside the product stands are a number of live events and seminars, giving opportunity for learning, networking, and job hunting advice. One event to certainly look forwards to is the Lawn Care Legends LIVE event – born from a Facebook group led by John Ryan, it offers a great opportunity to showcase your work, ask for advice by your peers, and ultimately support one another. The LIVE event at Saltex will be great opportunity to meet some well known names form the group, and maybe even win one of the awards on offer. FUTURESCAPE
ExCeL London, currently scheduled for 16th & 17th November 2021 Exhibition type: Landscaping, Groundscare Webpage: www.futurescapeevent.com From its new home at the ExCeL in London, Futurescape promises to be bigger and better than ever. A must attend event for the industry, with a breadth of suppliers for the inducts including machinery, technology, plants and materials. In addition to the trade stands is a packed schedules of seminars, Q&A events, and live debates – all a great opportunity for knowledge gain and networking with both your peers and suppliers. One to look out for especially is The ProLandscaper Summit; an expert panel challenging the big questions on the horizon of landscaping. LAMMA
NEC Birmingham, currently scheduled for 11th & 12th January 2022 Exhibition type: Agriculture, Farming, Smallholding Webpage: www.lammashow.com LAMMA is the UK’s largest event for agriculture, farm equipment and technology, and since its move indoors to the NEC in 2019 it has grown even more. Spread across 11 halls, this is certainly one to have a plan before you arrive. Over 700 exhibitors pack the halls with the latest machinery, technology, and services for all farming and agriculture. Amongst the big tractors and combines there are some truly wonderful innovations, and the 2022 exhibition will be no exception following almost 2 years of ‘Feeding the Nation’ during a very challenging pandemic. Once again visitors to LAMMA will be able to collect CPD points for attending and taking part in knowledge trails. The Farm Safety Zone will also be running again, with speakers from across the industry.
