EXAMPLE APPLICATION - tree planting / whip planting / forestry / feathered stock planting
Various round timber stakes are used depending on tree size – this machine offers maximum versatility with quick change adapters.
Typical post sizes used in tree planting are:
• 2” stakes for whip & feathered stock planting
• 3” stakes for large feathered, Standards and semi mature tree planting
• 4” stakes for mature Select and Heavy Standard tree planting
Given the variety of potential post sizes the Multi 3-in-1 adapter set covers all options.

EXAMPLE APPLICATION: 3” timber sheep fencing / deer fencing
For 3” round fence posts used for typical sheep and deer fencing our 78ROUND Adapter provides a snug-fit for precise installations.
Deer fence posts are typically 10ft (3 metres) long, and 3” diameter. Our Long Handles provide an extra 2 ft (60cm) to allow safe post driving for tall posts.
Should you also have other fencing sizes to do, a Multi Kit offers a variety of sizes. The Multi UKA and UKB include a 78mm Adapter suitable for 3” posts – plus two more sizes to suit your needs.
EXAMPLE APPLICATION: 4” stock fencing / boundary fencing / paddock fencing / hard tough ground
The large timber fence post size of 100mm round (4”) is typically used for heavy-duty fencing projects including stock fencing, general farming, and equestrian. The Easy Petrol Post Driver is man enough to drive in this large post size, and in combination with a Pilot Core Tool you can put a fence up in the harshest of ground conditions.
A Multi Kit may be more suited for your needs if you have a variety of fence post sizes.
And if you are trying out Clipex fencing for the first time, the Clipex Multi Kit is suitable for both timber
stakes and the Clipex range too.
Recommendation - when using large 4” posts and on heavy solid ground conditions, we highly recommend starting with our Pilot Core Tool, which is driven in using the Easy Driver to create a 2” pilot hole.
Operators will achieve an easier installation and reduce post drive time by at least 50%. The pilot core has a special durable heat-treated toughened head for hard ground conditions.
Simply use the Pilot Core Tool to extract a small earth core of 50mm followed by a 3-minute water soak to soften hard ground. Then use the Easy Post Driver for these large fence posts or on tough hard ground such as chalk, clay or flint.
Which adapter do I need?
Most importantly, you need a snug fitting adapter on the post. This ensures the machine is level on the post, striking it hard in the post centre, every time.
Adapter size guideline: allow 5-10mm larger than the post diameter. For non-uniform post shapes, measure the widest diameter of your post.
A poorly fitting adapter will be a detriment to the machines performance, and will cause strain on the operator and the machine. Still unsure – get in touch for expert advice.
