iFence and Sons’ post driver journey started after looking for a tool that would help him out with one specific, and quite unusual, job. He was installing a riverside boathouse, and the customer needed a really long scaffold pole driving into the ground to be able to securely tie the boat up. He didn't need a tractor knocker, and he wanted something compact and easily transportable for those awkward jobs that a mounted knocker simply can’t access. After doing some research online, he came across the Easy Petrol Post Driver and instantly knew that it was up to the task, eventually buying it from McVeigh Parker in Cambridgeshire.
As you can see from the video, the Petrol Post Driver made light work of that one post! So among it’s many uses, we can now confidently add installing a permanent mooring pole to the list.
Although he was buying the post driver specifically with this one job in mind, he didn’t want to commit to such an investment simply to drive one post in and call it a day. Realising how invaluable a Petrol Post Driver would be for future stock fencing work, he knew it was worth the money. And after exploring the idea of branching into Clipex fencing, the rest was history. In his words, a Petrol Post Driver is an “absolute no brainer for the Clipex system”. So now, not only has the post driver served its niche intended purpose, but it’s also diversified iFence and Sons’ already varied offerings with its wide range of applications.
Despite there only being one man running the show, as the name suggests iFence & Sons is still a family affair. His three sons – the eldest of which is currently 12 years old – all get involved with using the Petrol Post Driver as well as helping dad out with general outdoor labour during the school holidays. They each have their little roles, the most common one being a “clip boy”, which sees them helping out to install composite decking by carrying buckets of clips and passing them on. The boys love it and Dad says it keeps them busy, gives them fresh air, keeps them active and – perhaps most importantly – keeps them from getting under Mum's feet.
The Easy Petrol Post Driver makes it easy to drive in 100mm round posts, so his sons can lend a Dad a hand when they're not at school.
