Behind the Scenes: What Goes into Putting an Easy Petrol Post Driver Together?

June 01, 2026 4 min read

When you fire up your Easy Petrol Post Driver and knock posts into the ground, it’s easy to focus on the result - strong, secure fencing done efficiently. But behind every machine is a carefully managed journey that combines global manufacturing, hands-on assembly, quality checks and a commitment to long-term support. Here’s a look behind the scenes at what really goes into putting an Easy Petrol Post Driver together here in the UK.

A Long Journey from Australia to the UK

Every Easy Petrol Post Driver begins its journey thousands of miles away with manufacturer Christie Engineering in Australia. The machines are shipped to our UK headquarters on large, secure, shrink-wrapped pallets, typically in batches of 100-150 units at a time.

It’s a big journey, and that’s why the first step on arrival is simple but crucial - making sure everything has arrived exactly as it should.

Careful Inspection and Preparation

Once the pallets are unpacked, all parts are moved into our assembly room. Here, each component is carefully laid out and checked with a thorough inspection to ensure every part is present, undamaged and ready for assembly.

From there, parts are lined up on the assembly bench, where the real hands-on work begins. This is where greasing, preparation and initial testing take place so that we can make sure each machine will perform reliably in the field.

Precision Assembly with Trusted Components

At the heart of every Petrol Post Driver is a reliable 4-stroke Honda engine. We use the trusted Honda GX series, specifically the GX35 and GX50, which is known for its durability and consistent performance.

With all the components ready, our team assembles each machine right here in the UK. This stage requires skill, attention to detail and hands-on experience to put each part together. It’s at the assembly bench that our knowledgeable team ensures everything aligns perfectly, runs smoothly and meets our high standards before it ever reaches a customer.

Built in the Warehouse, Ready for the Field

Once assembled, every machine is prepared for packing and shipping, but first, we tailor it to you. We select the adapter you’ve chosen for your specific application and fit it directly onto the machine at the workbench. The full setup is then checked again for fit and function before everything is packed into your Tough Box to keep your precious cargo secure, organised and ready to go straight to work when it arrives.

More Than a Machine: Full Support Behind the Scenes

Our workshop assembles the machines, but the support doesn’t stop once we’ve shipped out your order. When you buy from Petrol Post Driver the relationship doesn’t end at the sale, it’s just the beginning. We pride ourselves on our after sales care and support each customer for the long haul.

We carry:

Whether you want to fit parts yourself, have work done in our workshop or need components shipped to you or your dealer, we’ve got it covered.

The Easy Petrol Post Driver Range: Built for Every Job

What started as a single machine has grown into a range of three, each designed with specific users and conditions in mind. There’s also options for round, square and rectangle adapters on all these models to get you a snug, correct fit on any post.

Classic35 - The Original Workhorse

The Classic35 is the OG Petrol Post Driver, powered by a GX35 engine. It’s ideal for:

  • Clipex fencing
  • 3-inch deer and sheep posts
  • Smaller fencing jobs

It can also handle 4-inch posts, and for tougher ground, our Pilot Core tool helps remove compacted earth or create a starter hole to make even hard conditions manageable.

Classic50 - More Power When You Need It

The Classic50 builds on the Classic35 with a more powerful GX50 engine. That extra power makes a noticeable difference when:

  • Driving 4-inch posts
  • Working in rocky or compacted ground
  • Fencing during dry summer conditions

It’s the same reliable setup, just with more punch where it counts.

Max107 - Built for Heavy Use

For professionals working long hours, day in and day out, the Max107, AKA our “contractor model”, steps things up.

  • Built for frequent, heavy-duty use
  • Larger piston and cylinder liner
  • Increased hammering power
  • GX50 engine for consistent performance

Designed to keep going when the job doesn’t stop, this is the machine for serious workloads.

From international shipping and careful inspection to skilled UK assembly and long-term support, hopefully now you can see that every Easy Petrol Post Driver machine is a product of precision, planning and people who care about quality. So, the next time you’re driving posts into the ground, you’ll know exactly what went into making it possible!
